How was the voting process for you? Did it all go smoothly or were there some glitches at your polling place? Share your story.
I'm a tampabay.com Web editor, and what struck me most was the Indigo coffee truck parked outside my polling place. It was nice to get that extra jolt before making my choices. Definitely brings new meaning to improved voter services.

None of the ABOVE
I would have voted if they had " None of the above" as an option.
You DID vote!
The excuse, "I would have voted if . . ." just is not valid. You did vote by not participating.

I cannot believe that there was not one candidate for whom you felt comfortable voting. Not one judge? Not one member of the school board? Not even one other elected official, congressman, senator (Florida and U.S.)? Was there one candidate about whom you read position statements? Editorials?
Frankly, I am tired of the excuses. If you are unhappy with the choices by the major political parties, have you thought about participating in the grass roots level. For liberals, there's Move On,for example.
How did voting go
Went fine. Waited in line for about 20 mins. The tireless poll workers were still smiling after thier long day.
Hot but hopeful in Old Northeast
No air conditioning at my Old Northeast polling place, but that did not keep away the line of folks waiting to vote at 6:30 pm. It would have been nice if there had been fans to hand out. The poll workers said the crowd had been steady all day!
Voted early in Palm Harbor
No problems.
No problems in Lutz
My wife and I voted early on last Saturday at the Lutz Public Library. There was, at most, a 5 minute wait to get to one of many voting machines. The process was quick, the election staff friendly. There were boxes of pizza and donuts for the staff and we were offerred some nourishment. We declined. Now comes the wait for results.
Re: How did voting go for you?
No problems here, nice, smooth, fast and easy process.
Voting went well ... let's see how the counting goes
First and foremost ... kudos to the election workers. They performed well, were quite knowledgeable of the equipment and very patient with voters. Their professional and hard-working service far exceeds the token pay they receive for their efforts, proving they aren't doing it for the money.
As transplants from up north, our first Florida votes today went far more efficiently on touch-screens than it would have on the 50-year-old lever machines we were used to.
The electronic pages were clear and easy to read. FL made it even easier by mailing out sample ballots well before the election. It meant we were familiar with the screens and process before we voted. We marked our paper ballots and brought them with us.
I like the fact voters are required to page through the entire ballot and a summary section before being able to vote. That means voters have to review the entire ballot and their choices before being able to vote.
The fact election workers had to activate and record voter information on hand-held units keyed to the voting machines indicates there should be a trail documenting each voter.
So the voting process went well ... we'll find out tonight how the counting went.
Voting Wait Time
The current Pasco Precinct 149 (Country Place Village NPR) is 2+ hours due to unavailable voting booths. The morning wait time averaged was 1 1/2 hours Unacceptable!!!
Completely acceptable! 2
Completely acceptable! 2 hours with proper procedures beats 15 minutes and a recount by hand because of inaccuracies!
I have waited 3 hours in the past and would wait 6 if need be to make sure my voice is heard. 2 hours every 2-4 years is a small price to pay for civil rights.
More booths would be nice but until they get them, have some fun on line and talk with the people around you. You'd be surprised at how many nice people you meet-even if they don't share your political views.
No it is unacceptable.
2 hours is a long time to wait. When there was paper voting the wait was 2 hours at some places and there was still a recount.
Maybe you can wait 2 hours to go vote but some people can not.
How My Voting Went
Great! I was there at 7:10 am, I was out by 7:25 am. Had my sample ballot all filled out. Great job Pasco County Supervisor of Elections!!
How my voting went
I enjoyed an uncomplicated time at the polls today. Granted, it was 10:00 am and most people were at work, ergo no lines at all. I didn't see any coffee trucks around, but the voting process went so smoothly and quickly at my precinct that I probably wouldn't have had time for a cup of java anyway. The volunteers there were friendly and attentive to their jobs - really a pleasant experience.
Brilliant marketing when you
Brilliant marketing when you think about it. My voting went especially smooth- I absentee balloted two weeks ago! Hope the long lines that I am hearing about doesn't discourage anyone from sticking around and doing their civic duty. As far as the caffeine induction goes, I surrendered years ago.
