WHAT: The Ybor City Development Corporation, along with several other city officials and local business owners, will be on hand to officially welcome Las Ybor City Homes to the historic district. Don’t count her out! If she can decide the Presidency of the United States, who knows what she can do?

[img_assist|fid=7|thumb=0|alt=Ybor/Baywalk starter]As Yogi Berra once said: "Nobody goes there anymore; it's too crowded." BayWalk and Ybor City seem to suffer from this image. These two developments have become popular entertinment venues, and with that popularity came crowds, not all of which have the look and feel of what the host cities wanted. But when it comes to public spaces, how does one draw the line between customers you want and those you may not? Like the town square of old, these developments attract a variety of people; civil society would seem to demand inclusion, but it's also possible that motley throngs could remove the very attraction that brought them and others. What kind of balance should there be? When is a public space not so public? When is a party not a party? How can we create the kind of community attractions we want that don't live up to Yogi's backhanded compliment? This is a space for people in the community to share their information, investigation, reporting and views on these difficult issues. It's Your Times.
